Deaf President Now! (2025). This powerful documentary, co-directed by Nyle DiMarco and Davis Guggenheim, chronicles the groundbreaking "Deaf President Now!" protest at Gallaudet University in March 1988. After 124 years with hearing presidents, students, faculty, and allies at the world's only university for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students united in an unprecedented protest when the Board of Trustees appointed a hearing candidate over two qualified Deaf candidates. The film captures the raw emotion and strategic brilliance of the eight-day movement that led to the appointment of Gallaudet's first Deaf president, Dr. I. King Jordan, and sparked a global conversation about Deaf leadership and rights, paving the way for the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
